This first session aims to train the {{tag|whole class}} to use a telescope and hopefully to provide an opportunity to engage in some {{tag|active learning}} by using one. The lesson includes some naked-eye observations and tells how modern technology helps scientists know where to look.  You can explore the {{tag|scientific method}} and {{tag|language}} at this point, using targeted {{tag|questioning}} / {{tag|differentiation}}.  Students may be able to engage in an {{tag|inquiry}} project based around this work, perhaps for {{tag|homework}}.
