* It is worth noting that these lesson plans are designed for a portable planetarium and whilst the projection of Stellarium on a classroom wall is not quite the same, in terms of what can be shown is the same but they are written on the basis that there is an planetarium (running stellarium) and so may seem a bit odd if you were not tuned into that fact.
* Suggestions in order of preference
# What's Up - [[file:whatsup.pdf]] - Use activity II from this sheet - Tonight's Sky but will need to stress the southern hemisphere navigation needed (the teaching pack contains refrence to the north star). Section D suggests using a mirror and flashlight but this is not nescessary. The ORBIT revision is available here: [[Stellarium/activity]]
# Sky Stories - [[file:skystories.pdf]] provides an alternative/extra activity but will need adapting by the teachers to draw out the actual stellarium content.
# Moving Right Along - [[file:moving_right_along.pdf]] again needs adapting and potentially removing some of the extra activities

Note: The linked pdf files containing lesson plans were created by Digitalis Education Solutions, Inc. (http://www.DigitalisEducation.com) and is provided free of charge as a public service to encourage the teaching of astronomy. They were written for use with a Digitarium planetarium system. Stellarium

Teaching approach. This activity offers an opportunity for whole class(ta) discussion(ta) and questioning(ta) centred around the use of the Stellarium. It also affords good opportunities for self-directed study or homework(ta) extensions, including perhaps the use of free mobile apps(tool) (see below). There are also opportunities for some cross curricula(i) discussion of geography (navigation by stars) and history or literacy in relation to the ancient world. (edit)
