This template is for applying categories within teaching approaches. E.g.
{{topictag|sample topic}}
produces this
sample topic(topic)
and places the page in Category:Sample approach, and creates a link from the "(topic)", to "topic/sample topic".
If you want to tag a word with a category, but cannot use the exact name of the category in the flow of the text, then you can supply a second argument:
{{topictag|sample topic|some other way to refer to topic}}
produces this
some other way to refer to topic(topic)
