This template is for applying categories within teaching approaches. E.g.
{{subjecttag|sample subject}}
produces this
sample subject(subject)
and places the page in Category:Sample approach, and creates a link from the "(subject)", to "subject/sample subject".
If you want to tag a word with a category, but cannot use the exact name of the category in the flow of the text, then you can supply a second argument:
{{subjecttag|sample subject|some other way to refer to subject}}
produces this
some other way to refer to subject(subject)
