I am a sociologist who has worked in the University of Edinburgh since 1972, and has been member of its Centre for South Asian Studies since it started. I have taught social research methods (and particularly ethnographic fieldwork methods) to undergraduates and graduate students since the 1980s. My web-page at the University of Edinburgh has more information about my publications and research interests: http://www.sps.ed.ac.uk/staff/sociology/jeffery_roger.

In the RECOUP project I have overall responsibility for the qualitative research projects, with especial reference to those dealing with the human and social outcomes of education.
