|content=An Open University study module introducing the ways in which patterns are recorded and used in mathematics,   and also science with exercises throughout.
|strategy= This resource is broken down into chapters covering various topics.  Each chapter highlights the study skills required to work through the real world examples and activities given.  They contain sets of problems to be solved, some of which involve higher order thinking skills (for example, being asked to correct a set of instructions), and all of which introduce - and encoruage the use of - mathematical langauge.  The resource could be used in class, or as a useful homework pack.
