Exploit social networking for education

Tool Description FACEBOOK (www.facebook.com) has been used by teachers to set up a social network(tool) group and connect with students. Facebook is common currency and as such is highly accessible to many - though social network(tool)ing may be rather close to home for others. (edit)FACEBOOK (www.facebook.com) has been used by teachers to set up a social network(i) group and connect with students. Facebook is common currency and as such is highly accessible to many - though social network(i)ing may be rather close to home for others.

Teaching Approach. Social network sites such as facebook can be used to encourage collaboration(ta), sharing and centralisation of artefacts (including, for example blogs(tool)), and inquiry(ta) based learning. If they are setup well, they can become a shared space where pupils can take ownership of their learning. (edit)
