Astronomy(i) has been practiced for centuries and you don't need expensive equipment to do it! This first session aims to train students, whole class(i), in the use of a telescope and hopefully to give them the opportunity to engage in some active learning(i) by using one. Additionally it covers some basic naked eye observations and how modern technology helps scientists know where to look. You can explore the scientific method(i) and language(i) at this point, using targeted questioning(i) differentiation(i). Pupils may be able to engage in some inquiry(i) project based around this work, perhaps for homework(i).
