This lesson offers students an opportunity to analyse a ‘real scientific publication’ and explore the language(i) used and link this to their prior knowledge and the scientific method(i). Think about study skills(i) to make sense of complex language which they may not always understand, and ways they can skim and use visualisation(i) to select material and pick up the relevant information Engage in collaborative(i) group work(i) using reasoning(i) skills in peer assessment(i) Think about how to best present information (including relevant ICT(i) tools) and the sorts of dialogue(i) required to explain ideas, explore them together, and engage in effective questioning(i) of other's.
