A DEFT case study with Wales High School, Rotherham

Lesson idea. The case study explores the potential of OERs for creating communities of practice - teachers within Wales High School use a wiki/blog and any other appropriate Web2.0 tool to share teaching and learning ideas and develop resources for assessment in a collaborative way. The particular technologies focussed on in this case study are Web2.0 tools and mobile devices, being utilised to enhance communication.

Teaching approach. This case study focussed on Digital Literacy, in particular using e-skills(topic) to support professional development and to facilitate communication and share practice(i) The case study explores issues involved in sharing teaching resources and releasing them openly; it also looks at ways in which OERs could be used to support the creation of communities of practice.
