Lesson idea. Children explored the potential of Web2.0 technologies for capturing the involvement of the school in the "Camp Cardboard" project (where pupils built structures of cardboard and this way learn more about sustainability issues) using blogging and social media. The particular technologies focussed on by this case study are: Web2.0 technologies, uploading photographs and video to the web, using mobile technology.
Teaching approach. This cross-curricular(i) case study focusses on digital literacy, in particular using E-skills(topic) to: facilitate sharing information in an open and transparent way; explore issues related to e-safety and e-security and explore the creative potential of digital technologies. The case study highlights issues from using Web2.0 applications in a school setting as well as challenges of pupils openly sharing resources; in particular issues of e-safety with regard to resources they make.
A lesson idea from the case study is available at Digital Reporters at Camp Cardboard (edit)
